Anxiety can be something that has been part of one's life since childhood or can come on suddenly. We work with teenagers to help them understand and manage their anxiety in order to get their life back. Whether its anxiety from the current situation (e.g., school, friends, family) or from a trauma in the past, we can help.
We work with teens to teach them Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in order to develop tools for becoming aware of, and managing their anxiety, to overcome it and not let it get in the way of their lives. We also work with families in order to help them understand anxiety, and how as they're trying to be helpful, they may be inadvertently reinforcing anxiety. Parents learn the tools and techniques to continue the therapy at home, between sessions, in order to get quicker, more lasting results.
At the Bay Area Center for Anxiety, we are caring and compassionate and work with you at your level or readiness. We use proven treatments for anxiety to help you get relief.
